Backyard Boarding: Buy Your Own Skate Park

A skate park is the ultimate backyard accessory for any serious skater…or for any seriously lazy person with skater friends who’d rather not leave his or her crib.

How do I get my own skate park?
The easiest way to hook up a competition-worthy park in your yard is to find a professional ramp building company that will do it for you. There are many ramp building companies out there, but it’s important to go with a top-of-the-line builder, as a good skate park is no small investment.

The American Ramp Company (ARC) is one of the premier park-specific builders. With attention to detail and a record to prove itself, ARC builds out customized skate parks that can run over $300,000. All ARC requires to build your dream park is space and a little direction.

What are my choices?
ARC has four skate park lines: the Pro Series, the X Series, the Stealth Series, and Concrete. The Pro Series 0737A (pictured above) features a double pipe and a staircase, among other amenities. Like all the parks built by ARC, it also comes with a 20-year warranty, although this particular setup will run you more than $300K. In the same price range, the Stealth Series 0348 (pictured below) is our pick for the most baller model in the ARC line, as it comes with more crazy street-style ramps and rails than the average skater can handle.

One cool option offered by ARC is a steel-surfaced ramp finish. With steel ramps there are no surface screws to come loose or boards to warp.

If you’re looking for something on the lower end of the price spectrum, ARC offers a scaled-down version of each of its lines (minus Concrete) for less than $25,000. The company also has a wide range of models between $25-$300k, like the Pro Series 0074 pictured below, which costs in the neighborhood of $25,000 to $50,000.

Nice. I think I will have to settle for the addresses of the people who buy them. For now that is:)
