Heads Up: Bear Skin World Helps Bring the Zoo Home

Too lazy to hunt? Still want your crib to look like a lodge? Then you’ll want to check out Bear Skin World, Canadian-based operation that specializes in bear skin rugs and taxidermy mounts from the trophy-quality wildlife available in Northern Canada and the Rocky Mountains.
Polar bear rugs are among the company’s most unique and expensive offerings, as only 500 polar bears can be hunted in the Arctic each year. Prices start at about $8,000 for a 7 foot rug, head included.
But if you live in the United States, you’ll have to settle for one of Bear Skin World’s other outrageous options, since it’s been illegal to import polar bear skins in the country since 1972. For as little as $1,400, you can pick up a full-bodied black bear rug. Or you can go with the grizzly rug, which starts at $3,500.

If you’d prefer something a little narrower, the 7 ft black timber wolf rug (pictured at the top) retails for $1,675. Bear Skin World also has lynx, cougar, badger, bobcat, and wolverine fur rugs for sale. According to the company, buffalo hides have also become very popular. But honestly, when is the last time you saw a buffalo hide in someone’s house?
Bear Skin World also sells fully mounted animals, fur blankets, and bear skin teddy bears. All great gifts for your friends in PETA.
