India’s Richest Man Builds $1 Billion Home
January 31st, 2008 by BallerHouse
In case you haven’t seen Mukesh Ambani’s billion dollar pad (news of which broke prior to our launch), we want to make sure that you don’t miss it. The 27-story house, which is currently under construction in Mumbai, India, is equivalent to a normal 60-story building. Included in the ridiculously tall floors will be six floors for parking, an entertainment floor with theater, terrace gardens, a health club, a two-story guest apartment, four floors of primary living quarters, and three helipads, among a huge list of other facilities. The house/tower will have views of the Arabian Sea from some of the upper floors, and it will take 600 full-time staff to keep the place running.
Ambani is the chairman and largest shareholder of Reliance Industries, India’s largest private sector enterprise. Estimates of his wealth range between $20 and $50 billion, easily placing him within the top 15 richest people in the world. India’s richest man will occupy his new home with his wife, his three children, and his mother in law.
If you’re interested in seeing how the construction is progressing, we found this video, shot on scene.
