Bringing a New Meaning to B.Y.O.B.
February 4th, 2008 by BallerHouse

B.Y.O.B. doesn’t just mean “bring your own booze.” It stands for “build your own bar,” according to bar builder Wallace & Hinz. The California-based company, which built the Cheers restaurant bars in Boston, designs and installs some of the most baller bars in the world. And they’ll set one up in your crib no matter where you live if you’ve got the cash.
Wallace & Hinz’s B.Y.O.B. process starts with the company assisting you in selecting a semi-standardized layout for your bar. Their layout selection includes 14 styles, ranging from the American Sports Bar to the English Pub. They’ve also got a layout theme for just about every major U.S. city. Then, the company’s design consultants help you decide on colors, features, and just about every other detail you could imagine. After constructing the bar in pieces, Wallace & Hinz packs and ships them to your residence. At that point, the company can perform the installation or work with your contractor to get the job done.
In addition to Cheers, you can find Wallace & Hinz custom bars in “places as far away as Russia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Iceland, Mongolia, South and Central America, and all over the United States.” While the company doesn’t like to discuss cost because options vary so widely per bar, they imply that they’ll work with your budget if it’s reasonable.
If a custom bar doesn’t work for your lifestyle, Wallace & Hinz also sells portable bars as well. We’re guessing these run quite a bit cheaper than their B.Y.O.B. models.
