Ripple Faucet Glows to Display Temperature

Smith Newnam and Touch 360 Studio want to make sure you never burn yourself at the bathroom sink again, so they’ve developed the Ripple faucet to glow red or blue to denote water temperature. To control the Ripple faucet, you maneuver an electronically-secured metal ball on top of the faucet’s frosted glass surface. A flash heating system ensures that water in the water channel isn’t hot until it’s ready to be mixed, which prevents scolding. No word on price or availability yet, but we hope to see this product hit the market soon. We also hope they’ve got a kitchen sink in the works.

One more image after the jump shows how the Ripple faucet works.
