Gallery Spotlight: Fifty24SF
February 28th, 2008 by BallerHouse
Fifty24SF is an awesome art gallery with locations in San Francisco and Portland, Oregon. We hit up the San Francisco location on a pretty frequent basis, as it’s conveniently located about a mile from where we live and adjacent to one of our favorite clothing stores, Upper Playground. The gallery has a reputation for bringing in some of the biggest and most promising contemporary artists from around the world. Their pieces are almost always controversial and off the hook.
At the moment, they’ve got a ridiculously good selection of works by Heavyweight Production House (HVW8), a collection of artists from Montreal. We thought we’d give you a look:
Pictured above left is “Mad Professor,” an acrylic on canvas original by Gene Pendon of HVW8 that’s listed at $3,300. Above right you’ll see “Ali” in the same medium selling for $5,500.
In the thumbs (pictured from left to right):
- “Alan Ginsberg” by Dan Buller and Tyler Gibney of HVW8, acrylic and silkscreen on canvas, $1,200
- “Gun America/Political Minded,” giclee prints on paper, $200
- “A Monkey from Paris,” acrylic on canvas, $4,000
- “Barack Obama” by Dan Buller and Tyler Gibney, acrylic and silkscreen on canvas, $1,200
