Banzai’s Skim Board Slide

The Banzai Skim Board Surfer is such a smart and simple idea, we’re surprised this product concept didn’t make it to market sooner. Here’s how it works: the 26-foot slide connects to a garden hose, which fills bumpers on the sides of the slide. Spray nozzles on the bumper shoot water into the slide’s inner reservoir, filling it with a few inches of water in minutes. The slide is then ready to start skimming. Available through Wally World for just under $50, the Banzai Skim Board Surfer is a bargain, considering the package comes with a 30” skim board included. Just beware that the board is not “pro quality,” like some retailers are trying to market it.

[...] The Banzai Skimboard Surfer will give you the enjoyment of surfing in your backyard without the risk of sharks, drowning or breaking your neck. (Well at least the first two.) Just connect a garden hose and when the bumpers along the sides are filled they’ll start spraying water into the inner reservoir. Once that’s filled, you’ll be able to skim along the specially designed surface using the included pro-quality wooden surfboard. Available now for $49.88. [BallerHouse] [...]

Can a regular skimboard be used on this slide? My ten year old would love it.

  • BallerHouse

A regular skimboard would actually be preferable. The manufacturer includes one with the package, but there are definitely better quality boards on the market. A larger sized board also shouldn’t be much of a problem.

Can this be used as a regular slip n slide as well?

  • mr. wood

would i be able to use a wooden skim on this?

  • BallerHouse

A wooden skimboard would work fine on the Bonzai. Just make sure the edges on the board are smooth to prevent popping the side bumpers.

  • BallerHouse

Since the Banzai fills with a layer of water on the top, it wouldn’t work quite the same as a regular slip-n-slide. The water would cause more friction for the slider, making it slower. Some sliding could be achieved, however.

I have one the board sinks when I try to skim. Plus they say have a level yard thats impossible they should make some kind of board to make it level ,and when I was running to drop it into the water I cut my foot on it still hurts. It thinks you can surf fine then you can move onto tricks like easy as pie I say no. Maybe a little more instruction on you do this would be helpful.

This product is awesome! We do both traditional slip N slide and skimming. When you live in the middle of the country, this is a fun easy way to “surf”

Total waste of money. Despite the box having a picture of adults using the skimboard surfer and the DVD that shows you how to use it features young adults when you lay it out to fill it with water there is a big warning that it’s for people 5’4″ or smaller and the weight limit is 110 lbs. I don’t know too many adults (or teenagers for that matter) who would fit this requirement. Our yard is level but it still doesn’t fill completely up on both sides, there is only water spraying out of one side even though the box depicts water shooting out of both sides, and the board just doesn’t slide. Don’t waste your money or your time.

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.

Can you do tricks? or is this just for going straight? Because thats boring.

  • MotherOfThreeBoys

Just purchased this yesterday, boys had trouble getting it at first use to the beach. Today a day later can’t get them off of it. Sliding all the way across on it. Having a super time. Worth it. As long as they don’t hurt them selves lol.
