Prepare to Hallucinate in Style with an Absinthe Fountain
April 17th, 2008 by BallerHouse
If you’re like most people, Absinthe probably doesn’t make it into your weekly drinking routine. But when it does, your buddies will be impressed if you bust out an authentic glass absinthe fountain like the two-faucet model sold by Kegworks.
Contrary to its name, the absinthe fountain is meant to hold ice water, rather than absinthe itself. In the classic absinthe ritual, water from an Absinthe fountain is poured over a perforated absinthe spoon holding a sugar cube. As the cold sugar water drips into the absinthe glass it releases the essential oils and herbs that give absinthe its distinct taste and effect.
Regardless of whether or not the absinthe fountain is practical, it provides a classy look sure to dress up your home bar or kitchen shelf. Priced at $70, it also makes a good gift, especially if it’s paired with a bottle of the Green Fairy.

Great fountain! But before too many folks get their hopes up, it’s worth mentioning that absinthe does not cause hallucinations. It is, however, a delicious apertif that calms the stomach and lights up the palate… and will get you nicely loade…:)
