Shepard Fairey Designer Laptop For Sale to Benefit Charity
May 12th, 2008 by BallerHouse
PC Magazine and HP have partnered up with nine big name designers to create one-of-a-kind laptops that are currently being auctioned on eBay for charity. Of the nine designer laptops up for grabs, our favorite by far is the custom HP Pavillion tx1000z designed by street artist Shepard Fairey. Fairey is famous for his OBEY Giant designs, and the top of his laptop design looks like it would be equally at home on the front of an OBEY t-shirt.
Of the other laptops included in the auction, we’re also a fan of Coltrane Curtis’ HP dv6500t (thumb 1) and DDCLAB’s HP Dragon (thumb 2). For kicks, we’ve also included a picture of Paul Frank’s HP Dragon design (thumb 3), which is currently leading the auction at $1,181.55. The current bid on Fairey’s laptop is $710, and the DDCLAB Dragon is at $510.
All proceeds from the auctions are designated for The National Cristina Foundation, which donates used PC’s to schools and non-profits.
