Here’s a book that’s sure to make your library baller. Gruppo FMR is releasing 99 limited edition copies of their hand-crafted book, Michelangelo: La Dotta Mano, each priced at 100,000 euros or approximately $155,000. The 46.2-pound book sets contain a volume of photographs of Michelangelo’s sculptures, a carved marble cover, a sleek black case, individual stands, and a 500-year guarantee.
According to the New York Times, when Gruppo FMR debuted the book in Bologne, Italy last week, the spectacle “included dozens of costumed dancers, a string quartet playing from a stage suspended in midair, suckling pigs roasted over a pit, a fake snowfall and a foppishly dressed acrobat walking Spiderman-style up the facade of San Petronio, the city’s cathedral.”
While Grupo FMR is currently taking orders, there will be a six month wait list on the books, roughly the same as the wait list for a Ferrari.
