Pratone Lounge Chair: Like Sitting on Grass, Only Much More Expensive
October 20th, 2008 by BallerHouse
If you are in the market for a unique lounge chair, it doesn’t get any more original than the Pratone (lawn) chair from Turin, Italy-based Gruppo Strum. Constructed from painted polyurethane, the Pratone was created to resemble a tall patch of grass, where the user has the flexibility to select how he will position himself in the chair.
According to DesignMatcher’s product description, “Pratone is an allegory of a longing for nature which came to the fore during the late 1960s as part of the hippie protest against a glutted consumer society.” Unfortunately, with a price tag of 10,655 € ($14,165), the designer looks to have moved on from that hippie mindset.
