Personal Whirlpool Will Make You the Envy of the Gods & Your Baller Friends

There’s nothing like a grand entrance to a property to show off your elite Baller status, & nothing screams Baller like a circular motor court, which is why you should have one. If you haven’t got one, now’s the time to get one because you simply have to have a fountain like this in the middle!

This is the Charybdis – a water sculpture named after the Greek siren from ancient Greek mythology & it’s very aptly named.

According to Homer (he of the Iliad & the Odyssey fame & not of  the donuts inclination) Charybdis was turned into a vortex by Zeus after she stole Hercules’ oxen.

It sounds like a harsh punishment, but incurring the wrath of the gods is never a good idea.

But there’s no danger with the sculpted interpretation here – you only risk turning your friends green with envy at your very cool personal vortex.

The sculpture is housed in acrylic polymer to give it the appearance of being constricted by the will of the gods alone & there are steps curving around it so that viewers can walk to the top to get a look at the vortex directly from the top of the sculpture. A complicated water filtration system also ensures that the water is always crystal clear – helping to enhance the drama of the vortex.

The sculptor is William Pye &  you can visit his site to view his other works. This particular instillation is his biggest vortex to date, so if you like it, perhaps you can persuade him to do a bigger one for your own home…
