Memorabilia from famous stars is becoming increasingly popular & the late great King of Pop is a hot subject at the moment, with items previously owned by Michael Jackson, going up on auction this week. The Julien’s Icons & Idols auction on the 3rd & 4th of December (this Friday & Saturday) will see 100 items from his life & career available for purchase.
There are some early items from his Jackson 5 career, to his highly successful solo artist career. Items include a military-style jacket worn at Nelson Mandela’s 78th birthday party. There’s also a signature Swarovski-embellished, white glove that was specifically created for his Bad Tour & is probably his most well-known wardrobe item. It’s expected to go for between $20,000 – $30,000, though that could increased depending on the demand.
Another item is a specially created replica costume from the Bad music video. The costume was made for his chimpanzee Bubbles & proceeds of the auction will go to Bubble’s long-term care at the Centre for Great Apes in Wauchula, Florida.
There are also many other items from the star’s Neverland Ranch, such as golf carts & an MTV Video Award.
The Icons & Idols auction will also see items from other famous stars such as Fred Astaire, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, Elizabeth Taylor & other such iconic idols.
