The design is circular and is made entirely from handcut blonde varnished plywood. Given the circular shape, you can imagine how it allows for rocking at a pace controlled by the person occupying it. Rock it the same way as you would your grandpa’s rocking chair. 15 box units are bolted back to back to give the moving library cum rock chair its form and shape. The book shelving below the seating area gets wider at the base to give it stability. Don’t worry; the library won’t ever roll over, even if you are experienced in gymnastics. Structural Dynamics plays a key role here. Illumination is provided by means of fluorescent tubes that are embedded in the circumference.
