Pavé Amsterdam - The Luxury Liqueur™

August 6th, 2010 by desiree

Pavé is a luxury liqueur that is distilled through diamonds by a company in Amsterdam. Apparently the liquid is distilled & filtered through 500 carats of the finest grade mined diamonds, as apposed to lab-grown ones.

The mix is a 60% proof fruit liqueur that is made from a blend of organic citrus, tropical & passion fruits. There’s also a hint caffeine & delicate herbal notes.

Bill Stewart (who is considered the father of the modern longboard) has created a rather special surfboard for fans of night surfing.

The Night Stalker is an S-wing design & features 2 LED headlights at the front of the board to illuminate your path as you cut through the waves. The lights are adjustable & powered by replaceable batteries.

The Man with the Golden Gun

July 29th, 2010 by desiree

This is a rather complicated metal puzzle that comprises of 125 pieces in 6 different metals. It also hides a sinister secret: 20 of the pieces can be assembled into a single-shot pistol while other pieces of the puzzle include “a customized set of tools, all necessary hardware, 45 caliber bullets, a standard sight, a laser sight, a cannister containing black powder pellets, a secure storage area for 209 shotgun primers, a spent primer removal tool and a ramrod for loading the bullets.”

It’s the Puzzle Pistol & once assembled, the gun is called the Intimidator - which sounds like the name for a transforming mecha from a Japanese anime game.

The whole thing is the brainchild of a machinist from Michigan, who makes metal puzzles & obviously owns the entire James Bond movie collection.

The Birth of Sexy Alcohol

Alcohol packaging is following some very sexy trends at the moment & design house Reynolds and Reyner have produced a pièce de résistance with their designs for Colier sparkling wines.

The premium Vintage Sparkling Wine is limited to 5 handmade bottles, with a gorgeous cocoon container that is weighted at the bottom, so the egg shape remains upright when the bottle is stored inside. It also apparently insulates the wine, keeping it cool so you can display it in style & then serve it nicely chilled.

Lost Props to go on Auction

July 26th, 2010 by desiree

Lost - it started out great, but by the end of season two it was… well to put it frankly: lost. But the series kept going, keeping audiences watching by complicating the storyline even further & by refusing to reveal any clues as to what the hell was really going on.

This ‘keep-them-guessing’ tactic can only keep your viewership for so long, & so eventually the series’ creators were forced to wrap it all up. Of course, by that stage the scope of their plot lines resembled something like a room full of caffeinated kittens - with way too many balls of string at their displosal.

So they went with the predictably lame alternate universe/it was just a dream/it was hell ending that all writers do when they’re in over their heads.

And now, in an attempt to make more money off the show, they’re doing what the Harry Potter Movie Franchise has been doing: selling off props to make up those profit margins.
