Lehanneur’s Local River invention, on display at the New York’s Artists Space Gallery starting April 25th, is a “fish-farm-cum-kitchen-garden” capable of holding a variety of freshwater fish meant for eating.

Whether you’re serious about your fish or just want to make a statement that you’ve arrived, installing a one-of-a-kind aquarium is great way to get the point across. Living Color Enterprises, based in South Florida, is one of our favorite custom aquarium builders, renowned for crafting some of the most out-of-control fish tanks in existence. If you recall Antoine’s aquarium from Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalow, or Roy Williams’ tank from his November MTV Cribs episode, then you’re already familiar with Living Color’s work.

Each Living Color tank comes outfitted with uniquely fabricated coral reef structures, high-end cabinetry, and state-of-the-art aquarium technology. Standardized models from the company’s Discovery Collection start at $12,900, and custom aquariums typically start at about $25,000. If you want a custom Living Color tank, just make sure to plan in advance. The process, from design to fabrication, usually runs 8-16 weeks.

The Spacearium Ceiling Mounted Acquarium is a fresh new take on the fish tank. Supporting both fresh and salt water, the Spacearium provides maximum transparency and minimum maintenance, which we like. Trendir, an interior design site, suggests the Spacearium could serve a practical purpose by “dividing the space in a room whilst still allowing light to travel.” We agree.
