If you are looking for the ultimate outdoor theater but are short on cash and space, follow in the footsteps of Kevin Allwine, a home theater enthusiast who decided to construct an outdoor theater in his driveway due to space issues in his home. Allwine’s custom drive-in theater features an 8-by-12-foot theater screen placed against a concrete wall in his driveway, along with a homemade audio cabinet inside of his garage and homemade speakers. The theater seats 30-40 comfortably and is stored in the garage between showings. Total cost? About $1,300.

The main video tower houses a rigid, one piece cast acrylic rear projection screen that is Eleven Feet high and Twenty Feet wide. The screen itself, weighs over 3000lbs. This particular type of screen was chosen for its superior image quality as well as the fact that it does not “flex” in a breeze as a “fabric-type” flexible projection material will,” according to the South Florida company.
