Unconventional urban artist Andrew Lewicki’s Gold-plated Skate Rail and Walnut Skate Ramp delivers a new level of luxury to the skate world. The artist put the one-of-a-kind pieces together in 2007, undoubtedly intended for display purposes over practical use. If you’re really into skating and have the cash, we could see either of the pieces making a nice addition to your art collection. Or, if you really want to flaunt your baller status, you could always take your board to the over-the-top skate art. Whatever your intention, Andrew Lewicki looks to be the go-to man the next time you’re in the market for a gold rail or a walnut launch ramp. Follow the jump for an image of the ramp.
Are you planning to spend time at the beach or river this summer? If you’re into water sports and haven’t heard of bungee boarding yet, then we’ve got the water toy(s) for you. Banshee Riverboards, the pioneering company behind bungee boarding, has created two applications for its bungee system, which propels skimboard riders into the surf and up the river at speeds of up to 30 mph.
Using a high-elasticity braided rubber cord anchored to the sea floor, sand, or riverbank, the Banshee bungee system produces twice the acceleration of a wakeboard boat at full-stretch. This allows riders to hit waves with more power than traditional skimboarding and actually surf upriver.
Looking for a new cool water toy to add to the lake house, houseboat, or luxury yacht this summer? Check out the WaterMat, a 6′ by 20′ foam mat capable of supporting 1,500 lbs. Part swim platform, part water trampoline, the WaterMat allows you to walk, jump, slide, or just chill on its surface. Although its not intended for towing, the WaterMat is light enough that you can toss it in the boat and throw it in the water when you’re ready to anchor. And you can just leave it in the water near your dock as an alternative. We see this product catching on in a big way, especially given its affordable $599 price tag.
Ever walked by a garden gnome and had the urge to smash it or at least kick it over? Now you can take out your frustration with those creepy little statues by engaging in a game of Outdoor Gnome Bowling. The lawn bowling game comes with six ten-inch gnome statues, two lightweight bowling balls, and a price tag of £30 (about $58). We hope the manufacturer has a lawn darts version in the works. But until then, Outdoor Gnome Bowling is sure to stay the center of attention at your summer BBQ for a good 20 minutes.
Want a new way to cool off this summer? The Big Wave is a 13-foot trampoline that lets you add water to the surface when the weather gets warm or use it dry when you’re not in the mood to get soaked. Galvanized thick steel springs allow the trampoline to withhold the water and still provide enough spring to catch some decent air. The Big Wave water trampoline is priced at $1,195.
