Slick design stands out no matter when it originally surfaced, and Unifor’s pair of Parigi chairs by the late Italian architect Aldo Rossi is a prime example.  Released in 1989, the smooth chairs feature curved armrests made of enameled aluminum that continue into front legs.  The seat and backrest are PVC foam, meaning the chairs are more comfortable than they appear. Like Rossi’s architecture, the Parigi chairs incorporate basic geometric shapes to achieve a minimalist look sure to increase the “wow factor” in your crib.  Pick up the pair for $6,000 at Montaperto.

Assuming you can get past the hangover reminder, Carlo Rossi’s new promotional JugSimple furniture collection offers some creative uses for your empty wine jugs.  While not actually available for sale, the Rossi JugSimple collection provides specs to create six furniture pieces, ranging from the Cabernet Couch pictured above to the Sangria Speakers in the gallery images below.  Not exactly the classiest way to decorate the pad, but some of Rossi’s furniture pieces are surprisingly stylish, like the Chardonnay Lamp.  Check out the gallery below for an up-close look at the Rossi JugSimple collection.

Is there a point where furniture becomes so functional that it’s not functional at all?  If there were ever a case, it would be the Trampoline Coffee Table by Alberto Bonomi, available for sale through GreenerGrassDesign for $4,500. According to the product listing, “the premise is, why have a middle on a coffee table when the drinks are placed on the edge- might as well be a trampoline.” Here’s one answer: you might knock the drinks off.

Not to knock the idea too hard, because we always like to see furniture designers pushing the envelope, but the Trampoline Coffee Table might have gone a little too far. However, if you’ve got an insanely cautious toddler or just want a stage for some epic drunk accidents, then the Trampoline Coffee Table might make a nice addition to your living room.

The folks at custom gold-plating company Goldstriker have given a 24k golden touch to artist/engineer Lee J. Rowland’s LED Watch Table, with the custom piece selling for $43,150. This one might even be too gaudy for us, but we’re a fan of the table itself, which has been precision engineered in steel, glass, acrylic and flock lining for the drawer interiors. The best part about Rowland’s Watch Table is the LED face, which displays the time down to the second and can be programmed to display custom messages up to 8 characters long. Without the plating, the watch table sells for $37,000.

In addition to the Watch Table Lee J. Rowland can produce a variety of other completely unique custom furniture pieces and accessories, definitely worth a look.
