There are plenty of ways to give your walls a mean look. You could install knife hooks, slap on a chainsaw wall sticker, or opt for Artecnica’s newly released dog mask tranSglass mirror from Artecnica. Designed by Tord Boontje and Emma Woffenden, the mirror is inspired by a Guatemalan tribal mask and manufactured in Guatemala as part of Artecnica’s design with conscious series. So, even though the mirror looks evil, by purchasing it you’ll be doing your part to support sustainable manufacturing. The dog mask mirror runs $2,200. We think it would make a fly addition to any bathroom or hallway.

We’d seen a hand chair before, but Pedro Friedeberg’s gilt hand foot chair sculpture takes the concept to a new level. Carved out of wood and finished in gold leaf, the chair features a classic hand seat on an anatomical foot base. Friedeberg produced the chair in Mexico in the late 20th Century. The unique piece is priced at $24,000.

The movie and production credits page at New York antiques dealer, Newel, reads like a comprehensive list of every period flick that’s been shot on the East Coast. American Gangster, Wall Street, and The Departed are three of our favorites on the list. Antiques used in each of these movies are available at a wide variety of prices, with some items going for as little as a couple hundred bucks. We’ve chosen to show you the most lavish piece we could find: a French Empire gilt carved eagle table used in the shootings of The Departed and The Thomas Crown Affair. Details on the table are limited, but we do know the price: $285,000.

Deeply Madly Living, the company that brought you the Erotika Chair, has a new chair on the way this spring that’s definitely worth looking out for. The design concept behind the new Zig Zag Chair is similar to drawing a complete figure without ever lifting your pen. The chair “flows endlessly, just like the symbol of infinity. And in spite of its looks, the serpent-shaped Zig Zag chair is reportedly comfortable, as the strong aluminum alloy frame is covered with a thick layer of supporting foam and finished in a velvety surface. Pricing has yet to be released.

Last night we came across some wild metal art furniture from an artist called FistFire. And, while we can’t tell if the artist is still selling his work through his website, some of the pieces are too fresh to not share.
Our favorite piece is the painted brass knuckle chair pictured above. We also like the Trifecta chair (thumb 1), the Fighter coffee table (thumb 2), the Arrow coffee table (thumb 3), and the Sanaz coffee table (thumb 4).
From the little information that’s available on the artist, here’s what we gathered: his name is Ty Huls; his artist name is FistFire; he’s from Maple Grove, Minnesota; and he counts hip hop, Godzilla, and Kung-Fu flicks amongst his style influences.
