Now that the British pound has dropped in price relative to the US dollar (it’s currently at $1.57), it’s now at least semi-practical to look toward the UK as a source for your luxury goods. Case in point, take British furniture maker Chesterfields 1780’s new black leather William Blake couch. The sofa features a high-grade baller black hides, as well as a price that cannot be beat: 1,195 GBP or about $1,880. The designs use strong colors to generate contrast and as you can tell from the pictures carry over the traditional Spainish architectural and cultural feel while using contemporary design. The company has also designed a loft in the New York City garmet district that was covered by the NY Times as both the loft and the online store carry cool accent pieces.
