Light Up Your Fish Tank with Glofish
May 20th, 2009 by BallerHouseIf you’ve got a fish tank in your basement, garage, home bar, or any other room where you don’t mind dimming the lights, light it up with flourescent Glofish. Available in Starfire Red, Electric Green, and Sunburst Orange, these genetically-modified Zebrafish shine brightest under black light but glow under natural light as well.
Glofish were introduced to the United States in 2003 by Austin, Texas based Yorktown Technologies, which acts as the exclusive distributor. Although there have been no reports of any ecological concerns associated with their sale, Glofish are without a doubt controversial and banned in California, Canada, and many European countries.
If you live anywhere else, you can hook up your Glofish at a selection of fish stores that you can find here.
