Robert Bradford’s Plastic Art on Display in the UK

Is an AK-47 composed of plastic toys really a work of art? Check out Robert Bradford’s upcoming one-man London show, Plastic, and judge for yourself. Running from April 2nd through May 9th, Plastic will feature a collection of Bradford’s crazy creations, all crafted from plastic toys.

Mauger Modern Art, the hosting gallery, offers up this semi-confusing explanation of Bradford’s Plastic collection: “taking on the ‘gloriously futile’ task of representing the human and animal forms, the finished works carry an added bonus for the onlooker - specifically, they become Technicolor-ideal plastic canvases for self-projection.”

Whether you buy into that or not, the work is without a doubt interesting and probably worth a look if you’re going to be in London while the show is on display. Private viewings begin April 2nd from 6-9 pm and can be arranged through Mauger Modern Art. The location of the show is the Trafalgar 2 spring gardens, Trafalgar Square, London.
